Naming a band is an act of concentrated creative expression. Since 2010, Square Pig in a Round Hole has been rewarding five favorite band names each week. Winners are (usually) listed alphabetically.
Selection is wholly unscientific and subject to whim, with a bias toward wordplay, humor, and local flavor. In most cases, I won’t know anything about the bands at the time of selection. Thanks to the Stranger’s Everout nightlife listings for abundant source material!
Happy Pi Day to those who celebrate! I made a quiche for breakfast. Whether or not you partake of geometry or circular baked goods, I have a fine assortment of band names to share.

Funnier and more extreme than a real-life mess, without the clean-up afterward. (Not a band name, but music and performance adjacent, so it gets in.)
Clean Fight
Everyone’s had a bath and they promise not to bleed or splash mud around.
Geese
Do not mess with the Canadian Cobra Chickens. They do not adhere to your rules of engagement.
Northern Cold
The northern hemisphere is supposed to be cold in winter, yet here it is almost spring and Seattle just had our first snow of the season.
Otherwise Elsewhere
The ending of complicated but vague plans to meet up for that one thing.
