Naming a band is an act of concentrated creative expression. Since 2010, Square Pig in a Round Hole has been rewarding five favorite band names each week. Winners are (usually) listed alphabetically.
Selection is wholly unscientific and subject to whim, with a bias toward wordplay, humor, and local flavor. In most cases, I won’t know anything about the bands at the time of selection. Thanks to the Stranger’s Everout nightlife listings for abundant source material!
I’m back! Didja miss me? Norwescon was fun and exhausting, but if I go next year, I’ll need to rethink my parking strategy. I’m glad to report that the band name supply did not dry up in my absence.

Broken Hats
I am a hat person, so I’m always sorry to see a good hat damaged. This week, I rediscovered an old favorite I hadn’t seen in decades, crushed and flattened. Delighted that I was able to reshape it and restore it to wearability! (Sorry that I couldn’t find any online presence for the band, other than the Everout listing.)

So nice that our planet returns the Moon’s favor by reflecting sunlight back. Not during the eclipse, though!
