We oppose fascism. We are anti-fascists. We are Antifa. We write poems and short stories. We paint pictures. We fight back through art. Fascists crave hierarchy, oppression, and conformity. They fear freedom, humor, joy, hope, and love. These are our sustenance. This book is a collection of our contributions to the potluck. So join us at our table. Fighting back is hungry work.

My thoughts:
The second volume of this new journal brings an array of poetry, short fiction, and visual art responding to the current authoritarian moment with imagination, grit, and most of all, humanity. Stories that would have seemed like far-fetched cautionary tales a decade ago read like non-fiction now. I appreciate the creativity and courage of all the writers and artists who contributed. I am proud to be one of them. This journal includes my story “Emma’s Knives.”
